Birsa Munda Chowk Renovation: Civil Works, Statue Installation, and Street Lighting Upgrade

The Department of Defence, through the Directorate General of Defence Estate, is hereby inviting bids for the comprehensive Renovation of Birsa Munda Chowk. This significant project, identified by Bid Number GEM/2026/B/8156833, encompasses a wide range of civil engineering and construction activities, including surface excavation up to 30 cm deep, trench excavation for foundations, sand filling, brickwork using sub-class B bricks, cement concrete for foundations and mass concrete, boring holes for underreamed piles, and the provision and laying of RCC nominal mix in foundations. The scope further extends to rendering on brickwork and concrete surfaces, screed bedding for floor finishes, and the supply and fixing of granite for various architectural elements such as work tables, steps, jambs, pillars, window sills, and cooking platforms. A prominent feature of this renovation will be the provision, supply, placing, and fixing of an artistically carved 8.02 x 4.44 meter high statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, crafted from premium quality marble stone. Additionally, the project includes the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 6.0 meter high decorative ornamental street light pole with approved fittings.
